Ok...this is more for us Europeans in the Band, but I am proposing a Eurovision Song Contest themed week next week at DM. For those that don't know, this is a time when Europe gathers together for a music competition, with each country putting forth a song as their entry. It causes much laughter and mockery each year, and the political voting is always fun to watch. Oh, and we always get to cringe at the UK entry.
The actual competition starts on Tuesday (i.e. the 20th), with the semi-final to determine those in the final. The final is next Saturday (i.e. the 24th). I plan to give a thread giving my views on the songs performed on both nights, and try to give my predictions of a winner, and a top 5. I will also be creating daily threads, with possibilitis including "Top of the Flops", "Most Outrageous", "Best winners" etc for us to comment on.
It will be open to everyone, so feel free to get involved.

When I first read about that, I couldn't stop laughing. But knowing Eurovision, it probably has a good chance of winning!

Do I dare ask who dustin the turkey is?
I usually do my best to avoid Eurovision as much as possible, but this looks like a barrel of laughs. Probably what the rest of Europe will be doing to the UK entry anyway. ;D

Well, most of the eastern European countries actually take the competition seriously. They try to put songs in to win. I'm not so sure if that is the case with western Europe...

Obviously not, judging by the UK's entry for the past couple of years.

Maybe the UK should throw in the heavyweights again...it didn't do Sir Cliff, Bucks Fizz or Sandie Shaw any harm...

I have but two comments
1) Wogan's commentary rules and is the only reason for watching Eurovision... ever
2) Bill Bailey for UK entry 2009....

And I wonder what Terry Wogan will say about Ireland's entry...
