For past couple of years, Polish contestants chosen by Polish jury to preform on Eurovision Song Contest were just.... utter and complete CRAP. No wonder we always end up in the second part of point table.
;D

The more I think about it, the more I am tempted to put a bet on Dustin the Turkey winning...or getting "nul point"! I'm not sure which way to go yet...

I'm a clueless American when it comes to this so I have no idea what you are talking about. What is it? Like a continent wide Idol or something?

Here ya go Clim, here's a general rundown, courtesy of Wikipedia: EurovisionUsually British people see it as cause for much laughter and derision because we're so crap at it. ;D

It's basically a European music competition, with some countries taking it more seriously (Eastern Europe) than others (Western Europe). It's usually a good evening for a laugh. No matter how much people mock it, it still keeps going - as shown by this being the 53rd (I think) competition.
I did read somewhere that the States planned to copy the idea, using each of the states. I am not sure if this idea ever got off the ground.

Oh dear...
Well, I'm not surprised the Russian is up there...he did come 2nd a few years back. And Sweden's entry has won before, so again, not surprising.
But of course, bets mean nothing in the end!

Considering we have an auto ticket to the final you'd have thought we'd be higher up. Now, repeat after me.... There is no such thing as bloc voting at Eurovision....

Let's try...
There is no such thing as bl-, blo-, blo-, bl-, bl-.
*shakes head*
It's just not going to happen. Plus the UK (and Ireland in a way) are doomed as we are both islands, and have few friends/neighbours in Europe. Like the French are ever going to vote for us...

Bitter, bitter people Just 'cause we've had several hundred years of war and religious tension with them - its nothing really! And to think, we might even have given them a point a few years back and everything

You know when I was in Ireland last year I ended up watching something called Rodge & Podge. And I thought Graham Norton was a dirty old git. ;D Be funny to see them at Eurovision though.
