And for the final time, there are only 3 members of Senior Staff - myself (Corki), BridMorgan and Direwolf Jon. No more, no less. Just the 3 of us.

well cant say as i really have a say cork's as i'm not active enough and have been absent but i do hear rumor and i came to say i know your doing what you feel is best for the org but you have to remember. most of us come to the offboards to escape from the hustle of dm proper. Remember that i also stood up against the offboard debate in my time as wolfkin OL but my org wasnt as tied to there's as the band is. I hate to see strong members like manny and tay go. they were the backbone of the band when some of us older members just wanted to sit back and play. I wont criticize you for making a decision you feel is best i'm just sad to see yet another split in a long history of them.

huh now i realise why i hadn't looked at this thread again till now... Myst has her own grievances against me, and we have had our wars in the past. however now is a time to stick together, to work together, not to fight about the past. i have sent her a pm to make peace, which i hope she has accepted. i understand that blades decision is controversial, however i assure you that i will forfill that role to the utmost of my ability, obviously RL depending - hopefully my increased activity will be testament to that. if anyone wishes to discuss what i have said here or in the past with me, then send me a pm or find me on msn (north_star307@hotmail.com). i will explain my reasons for saying what i said if you ask, and will listen to any advice you may have. thank you!!

I think moving back to DM is the best thing we can do. We want our members to be able to go from our public and private boards to other group's boards in as seamless a manner as possible. Most of my Band posts are at DM now. I need to dig out my email to get to the login screen here, or set up a shortcut to it. At DM, I go onto one site and visit all the groups I post at. If private boards work just as well here as at DM, then the ease of use factor makes DM preferable.
Are there lots of folks who have issues with DM staffers?
Is posting at an offsite location really more convenient?
I am looking forward to hearing more of this discussion.

Being from the Cav, I think it is a good idea to bring out the dead horse and beat it some more (dead horses are biodegradable) until everybody is in agreement on what the primary issues are.
What are the primary issues for maintaining the Band at both the offsite boards and the DM onsite boards?
If we fail to move forward, we ewill continue to have 2 hosts for our boards.
What are the issues in favor of staying away from DM?
What are the issues in favor of returning to DM?
It is convenient for me to stay at DM because of the other orgs I am part of. I want a seamless interface between them. If all our boards go back to DM, will the org interface be seamless again?

Bursius, there is no debate to be had. We are moving back to DM as that was Corki's decision. After a timeline that will be given by Corki, these boards will no longer be open. No matter what people think or feel, we're moving back to DM and opening up a discussion again will just cause tempers to flair and I don't see a point to beating a dead horse. Saying that, your opinion and thoughts of course are welcome anytime, I just ask that we not start a whole discussion on who wants to move back and who doesn't.

Thanks for posting that clarification, Brid. I would have done, but I was getting something ready over at DM.
And to confirm things, the Band will move back to DM when DM 8 opens. Until then, all things are staying here. When DM 8 is released, these boards will be slowly shut down. They won't be deleted - they will be opened up to the public, but locked to avoid any posting on them.

Any word on the time frame Corki?

Well, no date for the release of DM 8 has been given. However, I will get discussions going in each Regiment's private boards about what boards you want, and who has access to them. Feel free to start that amongst yourselves as well. Then I can go to Matalina and say this is what we want (to begin with).

should there also be a discussion in the staff boards about how to best move things like the org game and review boards over? or will that be left to the SS?

The S.S. will come up with something first, and then we'll go public with that.
