I'm gonna be straight up here, normally I wouldn't say stuff like this but seriously...chill out. Yelling at people isn't going to accomplish anything, and there's no problem with having those rose tinted glasses as you've put it. At this point we really do have to do exactly what northie was saying and buck up and move on. We've had hits like this in the past with losing so many people over the whole pranking issue a while back, but we made it through that and we can make it through this. I'm a pretty happy go lucky non-confrontational guy most of the time, but seriously, hanging onto all this bitterness is serving no purpose.
I'm going to jump in at this point, before more twisting of the facts are done and before more apples are compared with oranges.
First of all, those bitter feelings are there for a very VERY good reason. Not because of a personal grudge from one or two against poor little victomised North Star. But because time and again she stood in the front row AGAINST the Band and her own boyfriend, our CG and Org Leader. If North Star receives a truckload of yells and accusations, she's earned them three times over before breakfast.
Comparing this exodus to the one following the prank debacle is not flying either. That one was on a regimental level, this one is on Band level. That one was due to a clash of interpretation in what a prank is or should be, following a drama outburst because some egos were too big to fit through the door. This one is based on Band policy and the treatment of the Band members by the Org Leader. In all my 2,5 years of Band membership, I haven't seen you around much Blade, so I'm not sure how present you were when all this happened, but as others already said, it would help to get your facts straight. Because that is how rumors, lies and missunderstandings arise.
The group that left this time is exactly the group that kept the Band alive àfter that dramatically blown up exodus back then. THEY were the ones that put their shoulders under the Band, that took up the burden, that accepted the work, that did everything and anything and then some. While miss North Star 'let's get to work' sat in her chair, whining and nagging about her being the Founder of the Archers every possible chance she got, b*itching at others in whatever attempt they made to help improve the Band and it's activity, BOYCOTTING ARCHER CG's in their attempt to breath back life into the regiment because little miss 'I'm all that' couldn't get over the fact that someone else had been voted in as CG over her (something she STILL to this day disrespects, btw. Notice how she STILL claims in her signature to be the Archer CG after not having had the position for well over a year now. Both here ànd on DM).
So for all the boisterous exclaims of 'Let's Get to Work' and 'We survived worse than this'. Miss North Star has NEVER contributed to ànything that the Band has done in the years following the exodus back then. Yes, WE survived, not her. WE got to work, not her. WE made it that the Band moved on, NOT her! All she ever did was be the 'Quartermaster'. A rank that is utterly redundant, to start with, and a job that Taymist (well looky here, one of those that left *shock*) as TO, XO AND UC had to cover for more times than we can remember, because little Miss North Star couldn't be arsed if anyone else than an Archer posted an icon request.
So if you think I will sit here quietly, allowing her to usurp the blood, sweat and tears that OTHER people poored into this Org over the years, then you have another thing coming.
The Band didn't die back then, because the people that are now gone (and some that are still here) took up their responsibility and didn't let it die. THEY and NOT North Star were the backbone of that post-exodus period. And THEY, NOT North Star have the right to boast about that.
F Horn of ValereExecutive Officer and Under-Commander for years. Co-founder of the Raw Recruit Program and ever present Senior Staff to pick up the slack due to Corki's constant absence.
TaymistTraining Officer, Executive Officer and Under-Commander. Active work horse in all aspects of the Band. From the Lottery to the Band Game, she was there, she was active, she was working on improvement and she was available to all and everyone for anything. She also picked up the work that Corki kept piling onto her as well as his own load during his many absences.
Both resigned as SS because they were overworked, under-appreciated and basically felt exploited. The SAME feeling, btw, that our current SS have. Kinda' a continuing streak there, wouldn't you think? But, I guess it's their own dang fault. If they hadn't done their job so well, or had the level of responsibility that they have, or were genuinly concerned about the well-being of this Org and it's members. Well hey, they might have just done what Vorkia did. Sit back and do nothing for months and months and months. So I'm pretty sure they brought it on themselves. Why wouldn't Corki exploit such eager worker beasts? He'd be a fool not to, right?
Deathdealer aka Footman GrimUnder-Commander, founder of the Blademaster Program, co-founder of the Band Game, co-founder of the Redarm program, recipient of ALL of the Band awards and many of them twice or three times over (which is an indication of his dedication and commitment, btw), Long term active member of the Redarm and Band Game program, one of the few active members of the Quest.
KristineCo-founder of the Blademaster program and responsible for breathing the life back into a dying regiment, causing it to revive and spew forth a badge of Infants that continuously and actively participated in all corners of the Band, outside the Infantry grounds.
ManrivaLongterm Redarm Leader, longterm active Cavalry member in all positions of the regiment, and in all of them active and not just sitting there looking pretty or sulking because someone else had a higher position than him. Band Game moderator and active player. Hornsounder reporter for many months, even when not really feeling like it. Constant presense to welcome new recruits and bring atmosphere and activity to the Band.
I'm sure I have forgotten tons of what these people and others have done for the Band in the last 3 to 4 years, but I think I made my point well enough.
That's 5 from the 7 that left.
THESE People (and several that I haven't mentioned) were the reason the Band didn't die. Not Corki, not miss North Star. Them. Their sweat, their blood, their time, their sacrifices, their dedication, their commitment and their hard work have turned this org into the Best Org at DM. NOT flaming North Star!
SHE was too busy b*itching, nagging and whining about how baaaaaaad the Band was and how horrible we all were and what a bunch of low lives Banders were and how we should all fall flat on our faces, kissing the DM admin's butts. I guess she must have felt lonely, kissing ass all by her lonesome self.
So, not yelling? Trust me, I'm being EXTREMELY polite here given the circumstances.
