Let me rephrase that...I wanna get out of the States and just see at least a few other places! Like Italy!

Yeah *nods enthusiastically* Northern Ireland is cool too... I'd love to get back there again. Really enjoyed the two holidays I had there.

A3M0N.. you are being stationed? What branch? Or are you DoD Civilian? Yes, stationed. US Air Force, F-15E crew chief. We plan on traveling as much as we can. We want to see England of course, Scottland, Ireland, Europe in general. We will be doing lots of traveling, my work schedule permitting of course

Hope you have fun in England...and there is nothing wrong with this lovely land.
Another reason we don't travel by road much is that there aren't very good. you would spend a lot of time stuck in traffic jams...especially if you go anywhere near the M25...
I'm a few hours a way from Suffolk too...though arrange a meet in London....that would be good!

I'm in South London but work in The City (also known as The Square Mile because the old walled City of London is about a mile across). It's a must see - the history is amazing. So are the prices but for all the wrong reasons lol. Still, worth a look - I'm sure there are others in the Band in London - we could work out for you a list of places to see and do and reasonably prices eateries and places to stay. I can't recommend the Rough Guides enough. I've used 'em in several different countries I've visited and they always give good info - with varying levels of expenditure! Scotland is absolutely lovely - and so is Southern Ireland. Little towns like Chester are really lovely tudor towns and Salisbury or Amesbury near Stone Henge ...

I've never been to Northern Ireland, been to Southern though. I've always wanted to go see the Giant's Causeway. I'll make sure I do on my next trip to Ireland. Alth ough it may be a trip to Scotland with a stop in Ireland.

If you want to go see Stonehenge, a word: don't. Avebury is only a short ways away, and it's much, much bigger, and much, much better.

And one thing being totally forgotten about London - I'm there! (when I am not in Wales, which I see hasn't been mentioned! ) Nothing wrong with Wales...except for all the sheep!
