Riva stood atop a makeshift, rickety tower that rose above the permanent awards stage built at one end of the Arena of Death. A speaking horn was attached to the railing enclosing the small platform that crowned the tower. He bellowed into the horn in his loudest Quarterdeck Voice.....
HEADS UP LUBBERS! Yer prizes for Win, Place and Show are fixin' ta' be tossed yer way .... So drag yer carcasses in here and pay heed!!! Her Serendipitude, UC Taymist is a gonna start speakin' any second now...
The Auld Pirate swiveled the speakin horn downwards, pointing it at the stage... "Take it away Sister" he bellowed. The force of his voice causing Tays hair to stream out as if in a gale....

The spring morning is fresh and bright with an already warm sun coming over the distant hills to shine to the right of the stage, casting its rays across the field and reflecting off the light dusting of dew that still covers the landscape. Daetirion marched next to Arrandion and the two of them were a step behind and to either side of their Captain-General, Kara. Behind them were the Infantry soldiers from the Band of the Red Hand. To the left of the Infantry and centered on the stage, marching towards it in perfect step with the Infantry, were the Archers. Just as with the Infantry, el Nynaeve led the Archers with her two generals just behind, Dragonlover and Snin. On the far left was the Cavalry Regiment, also marching in step, although in the rolling gait of men and women much more comfortable in the saddle than marching. The Cavalry were led by their Captain-General, Sir Uasal Arach, who was in turn followed by Lady Katiora and Lady Stefania. Each Regiment had their commanders a few paces in front of the main body and in front of the entire formation waited Marshal-General Corki with Taymist, the Under Commander, and Bridmorgan, the Executive Officer, just a step behind him. Suddenly, Tay bellowed out the halt and the silence was overwhelming as the thunder of the marching died instantly. Corki, Tay and Brid stood on the platform, facing the gathered Band. Corki didn’t waste any time with formalities and only delivered a short speech.Banders, let us honour those that are true champions in the various arts of war craft; be it a test of strength, aim, speed, or luck! The first event to receive awards is the Turkey Shoot. A test of aim and luck! The following individuals step forward: Kastchei, Taymist and Footman! The three members marched to stand in line in front of Corki, facing the Band. Footman will be receiving the bronze award, while Tay captures the Silver, leaving the Gold, and victory to Kastchei! Footy and Tay, you may step back into formation. The next event requires Jeannaisais and Uasal Arach to join Kastchei up here with me, please. Footy and Tay retired back into place to cheers and applause for the three winners, passing the others as they made their way up to stand beside Kastchei. This event was the Horse Race that determined equine skill. In third place comes Uasal, while Jea brings home the Silver, leaving the gold for Kast once more. I now ask Direwolf Jon, Footman and Manriva to come on stage, please. The two groups pass each other to more applause. The next two events are the Joust and the Biathlon. The placings for both are the same. Coming in third is Direwolf Jon, having been beaten out by the RAL, Riva for second place. That leaves the Pink Legend, Footy, to take first place again! This is once more met by applause, whistles and whoops from the Banders watching as Corki places two medals around each of the contenders’ necks.I’d now ask that Tay return to the stage, and would DJ please step back. With a bit of bustling, the two individuals get into position. The next event tested the participants greatly in their skill with blades! In third place for the Sword Fight is Riva, while his banded, Tay, captures second, and Footman wins yet another gold for his extensive collection.More applause follows this announcement. Our final event award is a test of strength and accuracy in the extreme. The Infantry explodes in applause, whistles, and cheers for one of their special events, and it is some time before Footy is replaced by Samurai. The Caber Toss bronze goes to Sam, the silver to Taymist, and the gold goes to, Riva! More applause from the whole Band fills the morning air, and Corki finally motions for silence. Soldiers of the Band, I’d like to give the next award to the Banner-General of the Archers. Snin’s determination against the most awful odds anyone has ever seen in the Turkey Shoot have earned him the newest Cup, awarded for the Most Likely To Fall On His Sword of the Bel Tine Festival! Congratulations to one of our newest fighters! Again the cheering is phenomenal amidst much good natured laughter and while it continues, Corki quietly asks Snin to return to his Regiment. The next award goes to those voted by the Banders as entertaining everyone throughout this Festival. Manriva and Tay's posts have jointly earned them the Cup, awarded for being the Most Creative Writers! Congratulations to both!Banders, I would like to present the final 3 awards for this morning. These are the overall awards for the Banders that had the most points based on medals won. In third place, jointly, are Taymist and Kastchei. In second overall place is Manriva! And the champion of the Bel Tine Festival is none other than the man that won’t be able to support the weight of medals on his neck: Footman!! Congratulations to all three! The cheering is quite deafening as the final medal is placed around Footman’s neck and the Cup is awarded. Before I dismiss you, I’d like to give the floor to the Car al Shen Daes'mar, Manriva!
