How to post
Either:
- create one post with the board on it so you can both edit your moves, and another post with your moves directly beneath it, which can also be editted
or:
- post alternatively, posting the new board after your move and your move as well

Below is an outline to the game Battleships, created by Cumadrin.
Both players will draw a copy of the board at home so they can place their ships without the other player knowing where they're placed. the ships can be placed anywhere vertically (up and down) or horizontally (left to right) on the board, but they can't overlap each other. the Friendly Water is where your own ships are, the Enemy Water is where your opponent's are.
there are five ships to place:
- Carrier: 5 spaces - Battleship: 4 spaces - Destroyer/Frigate (your call on what to call it): 3 spaces - Submarine: 3 spaces - Patrol Boat: 2 spaces
i recommend that players make a new thread for each game, the first post of each player being where your board will be. all moves will be called out in subsequent posts and answered in a back and forth manner, like so:
Player A post 1: A1
Player B post 1: A1- miss
attacking: C9
or:
Player B post 1: A1- hit
go again
and so on.... the boards will be updated after each move is confirmed as either a hit or a miss. this way you can quickly and easily check your board at the start of a post and choose your moves accordingly. thus its also easier for judges to keep track of the game. also, any talking between players and spectators and vice versa should be made in subsequent posts.
Player A goes first. turns alternate unless a player scores a hit. if a player scores a hit he/she may go again. the game continues until all of one player's ships are sunk. in this simulation, Player A scored a hit on his first turn, thus he went twice before Player B could make his first move. i didn't include the subsequent posts where each player's moves were called and confirmed, as i already included an example above.

ok, this is the Connect Four playing board. Use it when playing the games, just like in Tic-Tac-Toh.
Rules
Connect Four plays almost exactly like Tic-Tac-Toh, except on a larger scale. there are only two differences actually.
1. to win the game a player must connect 4 squares, not 3, pretty obvious.
2. this is the real difference. in real, life Connect Four is played with a board that's vertical, and when you place a piece in a column, it slides down to the lowest possible row. this is how the game is played, and thus the major difference between Connect Four and Tic-Tac-Toh. when placing one of your respective pieces on the board, you can't go anywhere. you must choose a column, and your piece will go down that column to the lowest possible square. you must keep this in mind while playing the game.
other than that, the rules are exactly the same as Tic-Tac-Toh, so i'm sure everybody can handle it.
