A lot of people like to have siggys made but don't have the time or the means to make their own. Luckily for them, we have several Banders who enjoy making customized signature pictures and who are delighted to help others out.
Sig Requests
If you are interested in having a sig made, then we need the following:
1. The text you want to have included (titles, ranks, bandings etc)
2. What kind of artwork you want on the picture, such as a swordsman/woman, archer, a horse, hair colour, favourite colours and so on.
3. If you have artwork already chosen you need to post a link to it for the sig maker to use it.
4. Anything else you can think of to tell us about the siggy you want such as Band medals/awards you'd like on it.
Sig makers usually host the finished item on their own photobucket or other online storage, and will post a link for you to use in your profile. Please save the picture and upload it to your own online storage unless stated otherwise so that sig makers can clear out their storage space if necessary.
Also, if your rank changes, and you want the rank of your siggy changed, or a new title listed on your siggy, or any changes whatsoever, post here and let the sig maker know! They're usually happy to help out.
General Points To Remember
- Don't get too specific with your board requests. Asking for dark hair is one thing, asking for 20 precise details is pushing your luck. Not all sig makers are original artists, they more often manipulate graphic art found on the internet. This limits what material they can use, so be prepared to be flexible. If you feel you really need to be detailed, then we suggest you approach a specific sig maker in private via PM and ask them if they can help. That way you'll be able to discuss your requirements with them up front. (Most sig makers are happy to receive PM requests)
- The sig makers use their own valuable time to do this as a hobby. Don't pester them. If you've had no response from someone who's offered to make you one, by all means send a polite PM asking about progress but remember they have other commitments and real lives offline too.
- If you've approached a sig maker in private with a specific request, please don't waste people's time by duplicating the request on this thread. Either approach one individual OR post here... NOT both.
- If you do need changes done, speak to the person who made the sig originally before asking anyone else to alter it. Many sig makers do not like other people interfering with their work whilst others don't mind at all. This is in part because different people use different graphics programmes and it can effect the quality of the work. So give the maker the choice of changing it first.
- Above all..... a THANK YOU never hurts!!!!!!!!!!! If someone makes a sig that you either don't like or isn't quite what you had in mind, remember your manners and thank them for the attempt. Most sig makers appreciate that what they come up with may not be accepted or used..... but they do often spend a long time working on a graphic, so showing your appreciation for their efforts rather than posting an offhand rejection or critique goes a considerable way to encouraging them to keep doing this for members.
- Please don't spam this thread. It's too easy for requests or finished sigs to be missed.
