I am getting the information about the Regimental Competition for November and December up early to allow everyone to get prepared for it. For the months of November and December, the last Regimental Competition of the year will be a Festival of Games, using the dice roller and our ORG Game. Below will be the timeline for events associated with the competition so everyone can plan in advance.
Timeline
From now until Wednesday 14th November 2007 - During this time, all Banders who haven't taken the 7 lessons for the ORG Game can do so and therefore be able to compete in the Games. Also, from now until Wednesday 14th November, double GP will be awarded on all completed games. Sign up for the games during this period as well.
Thursday 15th November 2007 --> Wednesday 12th December 2007 - During this 4 week period, the festival of games will take place. Once people have signed up, an exact timeline of when each round needs to be completed will be posted.
Thursday 13th December 2007 - The closing ceremony, and the Band can slow down for the Christmas and New Year period.
Board and Events
I will pick the 7 events being used and post how they work in the board being used for the competition. Each Regiment will have 2 events based for them, while one event will have no Regimental favourtism. Click here to go to the board for the Competition, where you will also find all the sign up threads and threads with important information.
Participation
I would like as many Banders as possible to take part. The aim is to have every active Bander compete in at least one game, especially The Great Run, as it is the easiest of all Games. Also, having a good active participation will make the incoming ORG Game Leader's life a lot easier, as they breathe life back into one of our greatest assets.
The Competition Aspect
Even though you will be competing on an individual basis, your performance will help out your Regiment. Points for each Regiment are awarded depending on the number of Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals they win. So, in order to try and win as many medals as possible, it might be an idea to enter as many members as possible. But then it will be down to luck of the dice!
The Winning Regiment
Gold Medals are worth 5 points; Silver are worth 3 points; and Bronze are worth 1 point. Therefore, the winning Regiment is the one that has the highest total of points when adding up all the medals. The winning Regiment gets 4 points towards the Regimental Competition, while 2 points to the runners-up, and 1 point to the Regiment in last place.
Raw Recruits
Raw Recruits are encouraged to take part. You'll be acting as your own 'Regiment', along with the Senior Staff, as we try and spoil the party of the other Regiments.
Questions...
I think that is everything, but if you have any questions, just post them here and I will answer them.
One final thing...
Good luck and enjoy!
