Hey gang,
I would like to get some feedback on how you all are enjoying (or not enjoying) this contest. What are your thoughts?
Some concerns have been brought to my attention that I would like to address. One is that the challenges seem to be dragging on. I wanted to keep things at a moderate pace to allow folks to catch up.....however, it seems that we could do with some cranking up.
Going forward, the challenges will go on for no more than 48 hours, with a clear winner decided.
What are your thoughts on the challenges we have had so far? Some seemed to work great while some others seemed to really tank. I know you all are busy with other stuff on and offline; however, I really want to make this fun and exciting and get you all hooked on playing this.
So, what are your thoughts, comments, and wishes?

well, speaking for myself only here and not for my entire clan.
It's long, there seems to be no end to it. At the same time it is also quite time consuming, in that you need to be there at the right time or you're toast and you're dragging your clan with you which makes it really hard especially when you got a RL to consider. Jobs and sleep and cleaning and shopping for food tend to take time too. To top it off, the burden seems to start weighing more and more the longer it takes, since it's usually always the same people doing the work (as usual). Which is linked to the other problem of RL needing time.
And we've spent the last weeks, since 9th July, without a Car since up untill now I still haven't gotten a reply to DJ stepping down as Car, so I don't know who our new leader is or what's been going on. That kind of thing tends to make me lose interest in things.
As I said, just my two cents.

Thanks Mystie....so, what would you suggest as an improvement? Should I make the challenges much more of a smaller window of time?
Also, a smart clan car should keep things organized so that at least someone from their clan is checking the threads every so often. I hear what you say about offline issues making things difficult, but in all honesty, I have seen all the players on DM quite frequently yet the Survivor game seems to be ignored. What can I do to make folks more interested?
I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks!

Same thing what Myst said. The games can drag on for a while and it might get some people disinterested in the game if it goes on.
The games/challenges are very fun and interesting. It can get fun but its also tiring. There is nothing else that I can say.
Keep up the good work Mynd.

Thanks, Cai.
Were there anything you guys enjoyed about this game? What is working? I suppose I will need to find ways to make the next set of challenges a bit faster paced yet still remain fair to everyone.

a clan car can't change a thing about people's RL schedules though, and though we may seem online a lot, a lot of that online time is also eaten up by responsibilities. 90% of my time goes to some form of work, regardless whether it looks like im just posting for fun. What I really would like to do is take a 6 month break from everything, but I can't since that would mean letting people down or forsaken my jobs.
DJ is on a LOA due to too much work for school and RL, which is why he stepped down as Car. Cairos is a jewel, and I fully support him as Car as you know.
But yeah... those games that say 'you have to type within an hour of this post' makes it a tadbit difficult if you're not online or if you are just getting online and your first order of business is checking your jobs before going off to have fun. Like I said, I can't get into games at work, even if I do manage to slip online from time to time. Usually that means, a blitz check on all the things I have to do and hurrying out of there again before the boss catches me. I don't have the time there to go searching for clues and answers to clues. Much as I love that sort of thing.

So, I guess a time limit would actually make things worse?
I completely understand that most folks DM time is limited and mostly spent getting the vitals out of the way....I went into this game trying to make sure we kept things at a moderate pace without dragging things out.
I suppose a Clan Car can coordinate with his/her members schedules though.....and to be honest, the Taardad's killed that last competition because it seems that they had at least one member checking the game thread every so often.
Well, I am confident that the next challenge will be a lot of fun, challenging, yet still pretty fair for folks. Ji et Toh week will build upon the lessons learned from the last challenge and will allow folks to earn points at their own pace.
Thanks for your feedback! What does everyone else think?

The idea was great Mynd! It was fun while I was able to participate, but 2 things, both out of your control have kept me from it more than not.
First, I'll be completely honest, I hate DM! The boards there are horrible and the chances of it not being messed up are pretty slim.
Second, like Myst already said, I'm on LOLA and it is eating up my time, a lot of my time! Normally when I show up here, its about 15-20 minutes and I come to just post for fun and don't really feel like spending more time looking things up or trying to figure out the one answer that is wrong, cause it's just like answering the questions I'm already doing for the CPA exam.

Thanks for your comments, DJ....and good luck with that degree...I hope you don't get a migraine!
I guess there are some things that just cannot be avoided, especially when offline issues cloud the online ones. Even then, I am aware that most of the participants are involved at upper levels in some way in other orgs so that restricts the time as well. I, myself, find my activity on both DM and here drop after starting MyndJack, despite how much I try.
The next challenge will be designed to allow more casual involvment, without a time limit. We will see how that goes. Also, I think that I will keep Immunity in as part of the Reward Challenges, so that the subsequent immunity challenge will only be between the two remaining clans.
The more active folks, however, should be rewarded in some way. We are getting close to the arrival of the Car'a'Carn, who will split the clans up and then reform them into one clan....and at this point, it is every one for themselves. Should be fun...
What games did you enjoy? What would you like to see?

Well for my part..I love the finding random pictures type game and it so happened that my days off from work and so on could coincide with the time I was on DM. It doesn't take long to scan a thread and google for pictures but for the other competitions like when we had to hunt for an idol in the Aiel threads simply took too long. None of us had time to really sit and scan through pages of threads to find one image. The other competitions i can't really speak for since they occurred whilst i was on holiday.....it also depends who in your clan are from which timezone...we've had this problem with the regimental competitions too...you can end up with only one person or even none at all available to check up on things and then if another clan has several people awake and online at that time then they're the more likely to win. But I suppose there can't be much done about that. All in all I think that the competition as a whole is a good idea but I do think anything long term tends to get wearisome after a while.

Thanks Kara.....I think maybe shorter weeks then might help, eh? And maybe we only have ONE clan with immutity, that way the losing teams each lose a member?

Aye, that last statement sounds like it might make it move a little quicker. If you have only one team with immunity, it'd bring the tribes down a bit quicker to the ultimate end tribe and then we'd see who could survive that.

And since Taardaad only has three members..... We'll soldier on though...we're Aiel!
