This has been far, far, far too long in coming. Mostly because it slips my feeble old timers mind.
When I was a Raw Recruit; I was first sent to the Archers. Cadsuane and Lanette were my RLO's and I knew absolutely nothing about these boards or what went on in boards like them. With the patience and forbearance of angels, they along with Kristine at my next reg the Infantry and then my lovely Twinflower at the Cav, drilled into my noggin how to get about with a minimum of embarrassment. After I joined the Cavalry, I designed my own award and Captain Spacey of the Infantry made it for me. It's called Riva's Perfect Woman Award and I presented them to Twin, Cads, Lani and Kris.
I had a very difficult time, like most of us, deciding which regiment to join. One of the people who made it difficult for me was a relatively new Archer herself at the time. But she was clever, embracing, and always had a kind word when I asked a stupid question if she was around and Lani or Cads was not. For some reason I cannot fathom, I never thought she would like one of these things. But sometime later she mentioned them to me and thats when i realized my folly. Since then she has semi retired from the Band, left her home, lived on a third world island, surviving on her own musical talent, grit and nerve and then returned home, and thankfully rejoined The Band bringing with her the old wry comment, her light and joy of being.... She is self sufficient, bright, funny and artistic. To one such as me... A Perfect Woman
Odette.. I offer this as a sign of my admiration. I pray it does not reflect unfavorably in your estimation.
