Sorry, but 12th is right. Except for Bilbo's lucky 14, SG-1 takes the cake on EVERYONE. Except for the Whitestars!

Numbers? I see at least 10 showing interest in this extra regiment, 5 willing to join 4 over what in my opinion is needed to startup a regiment and 0 really good reasons not to go ahead with this. This isn't exactly a No Turning Back plan.

Hammers and chisels? Handy pocket sized trebuchets fashioned out of paperclips like This** I have made on of these trebuchets and had an office civil-war using screws as soldiers, and believe me, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing the enemy forces skittled with one very well aimed blu-tack bomb!Yes! I am sad and have too much time on my hands at work!

Ok, just to make this plain and clear (and 'cause Dae is paranoid), if the Masons get the go ahead we need a new law.
Specifically,
Artillery is never to be used against other Band members. You may also be prosecuted as an accessory to bombardment. Temporary insanity or accident is not permited as defence.
And then i also propose the following amendment
Prosecution shall not be sought if the targets and indeed only injured parties belong to the Cavalry
;D
;D ;D ;D

what dont get is how this ties in with the theme of music and travelling that we represent. Also the masons are only mentioned once! in the books so why bother? i am also afraid that this idea will take away some of the strongest members of each regiment.
I vote to shelve it.
In regards to the rr scheme perhaps if this happens we can add 8 days at the end with 2 days at each reg as a reminder or perhaps just the first 2 they visited

Well.
Having already offered my opinion.
And then shot down like a flaming shot. Quite bluntly and rudely being told that my opinion was not appropriate to the debate. Even though they were my thoughts of what an Engineers Regiment might 'actually' be like. So much for respect.
Although I have read several previous pages of spam and randomness, like building catapults and suchlike. Come on, how on earth (or in internet) is it possible to roleplay with a flaming catapult?
... oh I have a big trebuchet, look at me...
Strangely enough for a debate topic about such a seemingly serious subject, there is so much spam
Nonetheless.
A Mason's / Engineers Regiment would be a good idea. Thus my vote is an Aye and Ae for yes.
That said, I am set on becoming a knight. So I am committed to the Cavalry.
This is my opinion. Ha!

There was nothing blunt, rude or disrespectful about my post. Nor were you shot down and nor did I at any time state or imply that your opinion was inappropriate. I explained to you perfectly politely why this thread was here.. precisely because you said "something was missing". I also suggested quite clearly that you contribute those opinions again if we reached that stage as they were interesting ones. How on earth saying that you have interesting ideas that should be contributed can suddenly become disrespectful or blunt I have no earthly idea. I'm not in the habit of being rude to people, so I suggest you re-read the post in a different light. You are, however, quite correct about the spam which shouldn't be here. Now, the rest of you, quit spamming this thread please. It's an official thread posted for a reason so try to stay on topic.

Is there any possibility of actually finding out exactly what the Masons regiment would be about? It's all well and good having a discussion about it, but how can there be a constructive debate about something that we don't know anything about?

It's not a debate. People have said it several times.
They're just trying to gauge the interest in having a fourth reg. ^_^

Yeah, but surely, if we are going to say yea or nay to a fourth regiment we should still have some basic information as to the set up of it.
What if everyone agreed in principal. Then when the new regiment was up and running, no-one liked what they were about.

*points to Corki's first post*
Then if it fails, they get to default back to their previous regiments. ^_^
Besides. I'm assuming the planning would come before the joining.
AND.. I mean what gaurantee do you really have of liking the regiment you join anyway? Did you know the inner workings of the your reg before you joined?
I didn't for the Archers or the Cav.
*blinks* Come to think of it, I still don't for either the Archers or the Cav.
Edit: Wow, for a second there I almost sounded like I knew what I was talking about.
